Who is John Barleycorn?

When Jesus came into the world, he said: “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. … I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live for ever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” John 6:35 & 51

At the Lord’s Supper, “while they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, ‘Take and eat; this is my body.’ ” Matthew 26:26

At the cross, he made his ultimate sacrifice – his life laid down that we might live in him.
